Introduction

As the 18th Shaanxi Provincial Games approached, the construction and upgrading of sports venues in Weinan City entered the final stage.

As one of the key venues hosting basketball and swimming competitions, the Fuping County Sports Comprehensive Center was fully prepared to welcome this major sporting event.

To ensure professional competition performance and high-quality broadcast presentation, SCL Sports Lighting provided customized LED sports lighting solutions for the swimming competition hall and basketball training hall, creating a professional, comfortable, and reliable lighting environment for athletes, spectators, and broadcasters.

Project Overview

Located in Fuping County, Weinan City, the Fuping County Sports Comprehensive Center covers approximately 101 mu, with a total construction area of nearly 50,000 square meters and a total investment of around 700 million RMB.

The sports complex is designed to support various indoor sports activities, including basketball, badminton, and table tennis, while meeting the requirements for hosting professional sporting events.

The swimming venue, with a construction area of approximately 22,000 square meters, includes a standard competition pool and a warm-up pool.

As an official venue for the basketball and swimming events of the Shaanxi Provincial Games, the project required a lighting system that could meet professional competition standards while also supporting high-definition television broadcasting.

Professional Lighting Challenges

The swimming competition hall was designed according to National Class VI lighting requirements for HDTV broadcast-level competitions.

Swimming events create unique lighting challenges due to water reflection and the interaction between athletes, cameras, and the water surface. Excessive glare or uneven illumination may affect athletes’ visual judgment and reduce broadcast quality.

To address these challenges, SCL applied professional LED sports lighting fixtures with stable long-term performance, ensuring consistent illumination throughout competitions.

Through precise optical design and advanced lens technology, the beam angle was controlled within 55°, effectively reducing direct reflection from the water surface and minimizing glare.

The high-quality lighting system provided:

After professional testing, the vertical illuminance of the main and auxiliary camera positions exceeded national standard requirements, while lighting uniformity achieved excellent performance.

Basketball Training Hall: Creating a Comfortable Competition Environment

The basketball training hall was designed according to National Class III standards for professional competitions.

Basketball requires fast movement, accurate judgment, and excellent visual perception. During high-speed gameplay, athletes need clear visibility of the ball, teammates, and opponents from different angles.
