For most stadiums, lighting design focuses on brightness and uniformity.

However, for Hami Sports Center, the first challenge was neither lighting performance nor energy efficiency—it was the wind.

Located in one of China's strongest wind corridors, the site experiences more than 200 days of Force 8 winds every year, with maximum instantaneous wind speeds reaching 50.8 m/s. Strong winds, airborne sand, and extreme temperature variations significantly increase structural loads and accelerate wear on lighting systems.

Standard football stadium lighting solutions simply could not meet these environmental demands. Therefore, SCL conducted comprehensive on-site wind assessments, structural calculations, and lighting simulations before finalizing the design.

Engineering a Customized Lighting Solution

Rather than following the original design, SCL optimized the entire lighting layout after detailed site evaluation.
