Taihu Football Sports Center Lighting Upgrade Completed! Awaiting the "World Cup."

In May, the 2026 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup will kick off in Suzhou; in October, the ISF Football World Cup will follow close on its heels. The Suzhou Taihu Football Sports Center serves as one of the key venues for both of these tournaments. These two international events have set the "countdown" in motion ahead of schedule for this patch of green turf situated on the shores of Lake Taihu.

The Taihu Football Sports Center features nine pitches and has frequently served as a training base for Chinese Super League and professional teams. It is the first institution in China to receive the AFC Annual Youth Academy Award (Girls) and also holds the designation of being a Youth Training Center for both men's and women's football under the Chinese Football Association.

The more specialized a sports venue, the greater the demand for precise lighting. To comprehensively enhance the lighting environment of the facility, Seven Continents developed customized lighting solutions for the numerous match and training fields within this football center.

Each sports field differs in terms of elevation, dimensions, and surrounding environment; consequently, both the selection of lighting fixtures and the light distribution scheme require a differentiated design approach. During the commissioning phase, engineers must individually adjust the projection angle of every fixture mounted on the light poles—for a mere one-degree deviation in angle can elevate the risk of glare by a full level. Upon completion of the commissioning process, illuminance measurements are taken on each individual field to ensure that all data meet the required standards.

Following the renovation, the venue achieves a horizontal illuminance exceeding 1000 Lux, meeting the requirements for professional competitions. The lighting is uniform, soft, and free of dark spots or glare. Equipped with the Seven Continents Intelligent Lighting Control System, the facility enables the remote switching of multiple courts and on-demand switching between various lighting modes, thereby reducing the Football Center's operational costs.

As the designated youth training hub for both the men's and women's national football teams under the Chinese Football Association, the Taihu Football Sports Center is continuously tasked with the development of young football talent. Seven Continents undertook a comprehensive upgrade of the facility's lighting systems, thereby extending the operational hours of the pitches and significantly enhancing conditions for night training. This initiative provides more robust infrastructure support for the national youth development program and serves to safeguard the success of upcoming international competitions.
